Complete Wedding Preparation Guidelines


12 To 6 Months Prior To Your Big Day

1. Announce wedding engagement to family and friends.

2. Bride and Groom's family meeting arrangement.

3. Prepare all necessary documents needed by the local civil registrar (NSO Birth Certificate)

4. Determine budget and expenses division and contributions.

5. Decide on where the wedding will take place (church or garden or beach resort)

6. Kind of wedding (formal or semi-formal, theme and color scheme)

7. Pick preferences for your wedding date and time. (make sure to have back-up dates on mind)

8. Choose and book officiant

9. Finalize church requirements

10. Envision size of your guest list (make a tentative list of guests)

11. Make and finalize list of your wedding entourage (principal sponsors, secondary sponsors, maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring, bible and coin bearer.

12. Attend several bridal exhibit/expos to gather list of potential suppliers.

13. Plan your honeymoon (visit travel agencies or Google to find the best location for your honeymoon and make reservations)

14. Finalize location for your reception.

15. Plan your schedule for food tasting on several caterers.

6 TO 4 Months Prior

  1. Decide on what gown, veil and accessories to use and to order.

  2. Couple must select their entourages' attire.

  3. Select, make contract and discuss your chosen menu with your caterer.

  4. Choose and order wedding invitation.

  5. Purchase wedding ring.

  6. Schedule fittings and delivery date for your dress.

  7. Book your videographer and Photographer

  8. Choose wedding florist and/or venue stylist and discuss arrangements.

  9. Select and book your ceremony and reception musician (make sure to discuss the program and list of songs that they are going to play)

  10. Select baker for your wedding cake

  11. Select transportation to be used as your bridal car.

4 To 2 Months Prior

  1. Select and order your wedding souvenirs both for your guests and your principal sponsors

  2. If the caterer isn't doing for you, reserve rental items needed for your wedding day like sound system, projector, chairs and wine.

  3. Finalize guest list and address and send your invitations (make sure to include a map of the church and reception venue to assist your guests in finding your location)

  4. You might also want to consider having extra highlights on your wedding day like having a bubble machine, chocolate fondue and fireworks display

  5. Purchase shoes and other accessories

  6. Follow up marriage license

  7. Have your pre-nuptial wedding pictorial

  8. Submit photos to be used for your AVP or Audio-Visual presentation (Growing up Photos/ Prenup Photos)

  9. Make reservation of your hotel for you and your family where you will be staying a night before your wedding.

6 Weeks to 4 Weeks Prior

  1. Have your final dress fitting with your bridesmaids, maid of honor and flower girls

  2. If not included on your dress package, you should shop for your own wedding accessories such as your veil, hair dress, cord, ring, coin, and bible pillow, etc.

  3. Groom must also verify all groomsmen and best man had their suits fitted.

  4. Schedule your make-up and hairstylist for your trial wedding makeup.

  5. Review seating plan of your guests.

  6. Make detailed list of timeline for your suppliers.

  7. Give suppliers your copy of wedding program.

Four to Last Week Prior

  1. Meet with your musician and discuss final list of songs on your wedding.

  2. Remind your bridesmaids to pick-up their attire and ask if they have any last minute concern.

  3. Meet with your ushers and entourage and make sure they are aware of their individual responsibilities.

  4. Pack for your honeymoon.

  5. Consider having your teeth bleached.

Day Before Your Wedding Day

  1. Get a manicure and pedicure treat

  2. Go to spa and have a full body massage

  3. Break in your wedding shoes to avoid swollen toes on your big day.

  4. If you're checking in on a hotel, do pack all the necessary stuff needed for your hotel pictorial.

  5. Double check your budget planner if you have schedule of payment to suppliers after service given on your wedding day.
