WEDDING Q&A by the Wedding Planner Magazine
HOW CAN WE AVOID UNINVITED GUESTS
Most guests will understand that without "and Guest" or another name on the invitation, it's meant for them alone. Especially if you are having a small wedding, you aren't probably invite everyone to bring an escort, unless it's a fiance (e) and/or a serious significant other. You can easily solve this dilemma by clearly addressing your invitations to only those invited. People not mentioned on the invitation should assume they are not invited - and this goes with children, too.
If, on your wedding day, a guest still shows up with an uninvited date, don't flip out - even though you do have every right to be furious! Your caterer can handle this situation - keep a smile on your face and ask them to handle things for you. Don't let your friend's poor wedding etiquette ruin your big day.
